Pet owners: start with your veterinarian
Because KVS works through your veterinarian's clinic, every case starts with a referral.
Why we can't help directly yet. Before your pet is referred, Dr. Bruce doesn't have a veterinarian-client-patient relationship with you, so he can't give medical advice. Your vet's clinic also schedules the operating room and provides the estimate, since each clinic sets its own fees.
How to get started. Ask your primary veterinarian for a referral to Kentucky Veterinary Surgery. Not sure whether your vet works with KVS? See our partner clinics.
Already scheduled? Dr. Bruce will call you before and after surgery. If you have questions about an upcoming surgery before then, please contact your veterinarian's clinic.

Messages are answered during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM).
Emergencies: KVS does not see emergencies. If your pet needs urgent care, call your veterinarian during business hours or your nearest emergency hospital after hours.

Service area and hours
KVS serves partner clinics in the Louisville and Lexington areas, central Kentucky, and Southern Indiana. Specialty surgery happens at your veterinarian's clinic, so there is no public office address. Find a partner clinic.
Business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, for general inquiries; contact form messages are answered during these hours. Closed weekends and holidays. Veterinary clinics can call or text anytime.
