Early Education

He is a graduate of Auburn's College of Veterinary Medicine (WAR EAGLE!). After veterinary school, he did a rotating internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta. Then a surgical internship was performed at BluePearl in Kansas City. Finally, a surgical residency was completed at BluePearl in Detroit, Michigan and Dr. Bruce became board certified in 2017.

Finds Home

After his residency, Dr. Bruce became the surgeon at BluePearl in Louisville, Kentucky. He worked there for a few years and absolutely fell in love with the city. During this time, he and his wife, Ashley, gave birth to twins. Dr. Bruce always dreamed of starting his own practice and Louisville was where he wished to raise his family. But following his dream to start his own business meant leaving his position at BluePearl and eventually the tough decision was made. After a short stint in Indiana (where they welcomed their third child) the Bruces have returned home.

His Passion

Kentucky Veterinary Surgery is mobile specialty surgery. This means that we don't have the typical office that most veterinarians have. The board certified surgeons of KVS will actually travel around to the different veterinary offices in the Kentuckiana area and perform high end specialty surgery in their offices. There are many advantages to this model; it allows both the pet and the owner to feel more at ease with the familiar faces at their trusted veterinarian's office and without the need for large specialty hospitals with 24 hour care, the cost of specialty care can be more affordable. Surgery can be overwhelming, and providing families and their furry loved ones options as comfortable and affordable as possible is what Kentucky Veterinary Surgery is all about.
